Worship Academy

On October 27, 2018, Church in the Valley (CIV) in Langley hosted their first Worship Academy Day Conference. Over 100 worship leaders from all over British Columbia and parts of Washington gathered together as a community to learn and grow in their understanding of Biblical worship.

Along with keynote sessions, Worship Academy brought in local professional musicians to teach breakout sessions that focused on practical skills such as sound mixing, drums, vocal training, bass guitar, lead electric guitar, choosing a song list, and keys. It was truly a blessed day of worship and growing together.

It all started with a dream to have an Adventist worship resource for local Adventist churches that are looking to develop and expand their worship ministry. Worship is not a topic that is of great focus in the Adventist church and Pastor Josh (Worship Pastor at CIV) and the CIV worship team are hoping to change that as they begin to grow a community of worshippers who are striving to experience God more fully in the Biblical sense of worship on a corporate, as well as personal, level.

Worship Academy is just the beginning of something new at Church In the Valley and there is a feeling of excitement and anticipation in the air as to what God is going to do next.
