Park Manor Care Leadership Opportunity

Park Manor_Site Approach ConceptPark Manor Care is an Adventist managed long term care home for 100 residents within the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference, and a member of CALTCA – the Canadian Adventist Long Term Care Association of 7 Adventist nursing homes across Canada.  Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and in particular the community of Transcona since 1967, Park Manor has a long history of delivering quality compassionate care – we are all about serving our community as captured in our Mission statement:

“Offering Love, Peace, Compassion, Hope and Empowerment… to Care as Christ does.”

Transcona is a great community that is committed to supporting us, and whose citizens contribute many volunteer hours in a variety of roles that enhance our focus on caring.    Our Adventist church members serve alongside community churches in providing spiritual care and religious services for residents of all faiths.   Park Manor cares in other ways by offering an Adult Day Program, Supports for Seniors, meals for Meals on Wheels, and more.  In addition we operate an attached 6-storey residence, East Park Lodge, with 60 suites for independent seniors – many who are actively involved in volunteering.

Although Park Manor has a 49 year history and is well known in the community, we recently decided to update our image – first by changing our name from Park Manor Personal Care Home to Park Manor Care.  While the new name has a number of practical benefits, our goal was to create a stronger focus on what we do at our core – to Care for our residents, our staff and our community.  Our new name is also embedded in our new logo and new colours, which were designed to capture a sense of the place we hold in Transcona, so that people can easily recognize us at a glance.

The most exciting news is that Park Manor Care is expanding our services for the community.  We are currently finalizing plans to build a second personal care home for an additional 120 residents, which is expected to open in 2-3 years.  The new building will have larger, private resident suites, with more overall support and amenity space that will allow us to meet the needs of residents now and in the future.  Once completed we will be transformed into an integrated Campus of Care serving 220 long term care residents, our East Park Lodge tenants, and others from the community who access our programs and services.  With this expansion we will be seeking committed professionals and support staff in the coming years to help us fulfill our mission of caring as Christ does.
