Planning together

For the first time the leaders of our ministries and services worked together with a common desire to find the best approach for the accomplishment of God’s mission in Canada. We not only had the conference presidents with us (Gordon Pifher, British Columbia; Ken Wiebe, Alberta; Ron Nelson, Manitoba-Saskatchewan; Mansfield Edwards, Ontario; Daniel Latchman, Quebec; John Fournier, Maritime; Ken Courkum, Newfoundland and Labrador), but we also had Bill Santos, It Is Written Ministry; Pat Page, Christian Record Services; Crystal Steeves, Messenger; Ron Kuhn, ADRA; Mark Haynal, CUC; Marylin Patzika, Retirement Department; Ed Dunn, Native Ministry, and Juanita Longman, Health Benefits, from the SDACC office. They contributed greatly to the success of our strategic planning. Following two days of exchanging ideas and dreaming about big, almost unachievable goals, we agreed on 5 conclusions to be first shared with the delegates of our conferences during the quinquennial Session (September 23 – 25, 2011), and then with the membership of the SDACC. May the power of our God help us succeed in our task, for the glory of His name. (D.S.)
